The mobile internet era
The internet has become an inseparable part of everyday life. Mobile internet brings users new opportunities; it enables you to look up anything, not just at home or at work, but wherever you are. The number of mobile users has already reached half of the total number of internet usersMobile internet use in Turkey is becoming increasingly widespread. There are many reasons for this, including 3G, attractive prices and the diversification of e-applications. The number of 3G subscribers, which was 19.4 million in the last quarter of 2010, reached 31.4 million in the last quarter of 2011, bringing the number of mobile internet users to 6,455,000 as of the last quarter of 2011 to make up 46 percent of a total of 14 million internet users.

Some 76 percent of mobile users connect to the net via mobile devices while 24 percent connect via desktop computers. In the last quarter of 2011, the number of mobile device internet users increased by 600,000, reaching 4.9 million, while internet users via portable computers increased by 200,000, approaching the 1,550,000 benchmark. »

Avea has 35 percent of the user base
Dehjan Erturk, Avea Vice President of Marketing, says that they have increased their mobile internet revenue by 146 percent in the last year and emphasises that the number of mobile internet users has reached 4.5 million, making up 35 percent of the total user base.
The number of Avea mobile internet users has increased by 40 percent compared to the same period last year, while the number of computer internet users has increased by 100 percent. According to 2011 year-end data, modem sales also experienced a rapid rise. Stating that their market share for the last quarter of 2011 reached 28 percent, Dehjan Erturk says, 'If we include TTNET Mobile 3G sales in this calculation, we have a 35 percent share of the market.’
Avea’s mobile internet revenue has grown by 300 percent in the last year. The total mobile internet revenue has increased by 146 percent; the share of mobile internet in overall service revenues therefore reached 10 percent at the end of 2011.

Turkcell sees increase of a factor of 13 in two years
From 2009, when 3G was initiated, to 2011, Turkcell's mobile internet traffic increased by a factor of 13, while mobile internet usage per user increased by 560 percent.
This figure was 7.8 million in 2010 for Turkcell, where the number of mobile internet users reached 11.5 , million in the last quarter of 2011.
Stating that they have a higher market share of j the overall 3G modem internet market with VINN / usage than of voice calls, Emre Sayin, Turkcell Vice President speaks as follows:

3G users make up half of Vodafone users. Vodafone, which has 18 million users, boasts nearly 9 million 3G users. Gökhan öğüt, Vodafone Turkey Vice President of the Executive Board, who is in charge of Individual Consumers, points out that, like Turkcell, they too have grown with increasing momentum in this field, and says, In the period October-December 2011, which was the third quarter of the 2011-2012 financial year, our mobile internet revenue increased by 244 percent, and data revenues by 77 percent. With our superb internet strategy and the smart devices we will soon launch, we will continue to contribute to the growth of mobile internet in Turkey in 2012.'
